City police have arrested a pair of suspects they think were responsible for a spate of break-and-enters of lockers at an Archibald Street storage facility.

Major crimes investigators began investigating the break-ins in May and identified two suspects, a man and a woman.

Police said Sunday that officers discovered that the suspects, who know each other, leased separate lockers in the facility and linked them to the break-ins.

Between May 19 and 21, police said, the suspects broke into three lockers, stealing property and then storing it in their own lockers.

The accused pair are also believed to have broken into a fourth locker that belongs to a non-profit, stole furniture and then sold it online to an unsuspecting buyer.

Police arrested the two at their home on the 200 block of Toronto Street on Saturday.

A 44-year-old man from Winnipeg was charged with four counts of break-and-enter and theft and one count of trafficking in property obtained by crime over $5,000.

A 38-year-old woman from Winnipeg is charged with four counts of break-and-enter and theft, one count of break-and-enter and theft with intent, and one count of trafficking in property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Both were detained.
