Hey there, time traveller!

Three people were seriously injured in a three-vehicle collision on the Trans-Canada Highway at what has become an infamous intersection following a fiery crash that killed 17 seniors in June.
Blue Hills RCMP said one of Monday’s victims was taken to a Winnipeg hospital while the other two were being treated at local hospitals after the crash at the Highway 5 junction at 4:45 pm.
“Initial investigation has determined that a pickup truck southbound on Highway 5 entered the intersection at Highway 1, colliding with an eastbound SUV. The collision between the two caused the vehicles to push across the highway, where they collided with a third vehicle, which was waiting at a stop sign on Highway 5, south of Highway 1,” RCMP said in a news release.

Three people were taken to hospital after a crash involving three vehicles at the intersection of Hwy. 5 and the Trans-Canada Highway.
The Trans-Canada was partially closed for safety and so officers could conduct the investigation. Drivers were warned to expect delays and avoid the area if possible.
Carberry resident Travis Eilers drove to the site after seeing a video of the crash on social media and arrived around 6:20 p.m.
He said one vehicle was upside down, while another was severely damaged. Four ambulances, two fire trucks and several RCMP vehicles were at the site, Eilers said.
The circumstances are eerily similar to the June 15 crash in which a southbound minibus was hit by an eastbound semi-trailer as the seniors were being taken on a day outing to the Carberry casino, south of the junction. RCMP later said the semi-trailer driver had the right-of-way.
On Monday, RCMP referred to the June tragedy, which shook the city of Dauphin and the dozens of first responders who raced to intersection hoping to save lives.
“We very much appreciate that this may be extraordinarily upsetting for some people considering the recent mass casualty collision at the same intersection,” said Insp. Lee Fortin of RCMP West District.
“This is very early in this investigation and we need to do our work to confirm information and determine what happened. We will provide updates as soon as we are able.”
Following the June crash, Premier Heather Stefanson said a safety review of the intersection would be conducted.
The premier said experts would be consulted, if needed, to improve safety at the intersection, which is controlled only by stop signs on Highway 5.
“After any accident or incident on our highways there is an internal review that takes place,” Stefanson said. “So that review is taking place right now.”

As of July 26, six victims of the June crash remained in hospital.
