A woman was killed at the same intersection late last year. Sarbjit Gill, a 42-year-old mother of twins, was turning north onto King Edward from eastbound Inkster when her SUV was struck by a westbound truck early on Dec. 10. Gill was driving home from a night shift at a Canada Post processing plant on Wellington Avenue, where she had picked up a part-time job for the holiday season.
Nicholas Primo Baldovi, 21, turned himself in to police on Aug. 8 and has been charged with criminal negligence and impaired driving in connection with the December crash.
The WPS traffic division is asking anyone with information about Sunday’s crash, including security or dash-camera video, to call investigators at 204-986-7085 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477 (TIPS).
