A man and woman, both in their 20s, have been charged after RCMP and Brandon police confiscated nine kilograms of fentanyl during a traffic stop on the Trans-Canada Highway.
Brandon police said Tuesday the Manitoba-licensed vehicle was stopped five kilometres west of Brandon just before noon on Jan. 25.
A bag containing the drug was found inside. The estimated street value is $1.1 million.

A 27-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance.
They were scheduled to appear in court the following day.
