Homicide detectives have arrested the last teenage suspect wanted in connection with the killing of a man outside a beer vendor last November.
Peter Filip, 27, was standing outside the vendor at Arlington Street and Logan Avenue at about 2 a.m. on Nov. 11, when a group of boys confronted him and then repeatedly assaulted him.
One of the suspects, police said, stabbed Filip while another pulled out a firearm and hit the victim with it.
Filip died in hospital of the stab wound.
In December, police charged two 14-year-olds, a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old with manslaughter.
On Jan. 11, police arrested a 14-year-old, who was charged with robbery and firearm offences.
On Wednesday, police said, officers arrested a 16-year-old, who’s been charged with manslaughter and robbery.
None of the names of the accused can be released owing to restrictions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
After running away from the vendor, four of the teens allegedly assaulted and robbed three boys, aged 14 to 16, of their clothing at gunpoint. The incident happened near Logan and Tecumseh Street, about three blocks east of the vendor.
One of the robbery victims was treated in hospital for an upper-body injury.
Police said the suspects then ran to Salter Street and Burrows Avenue, where they requested a ride from a driver.
The group allegedly got into the 28-year-old man’s vehicle, pulled out a knife and assaulted him in an attempted carjacking.
One of the suspects tried to shoot the man, but the gun misfired, said police.
The victim managed to disarm one of the teens who carried a sawed-off rifle, retake control of his vehicle and drive to the downtown police headquarters to seek help, police said.
The man was injured, but did not require medical attention.
