Manitoba RCMP have located two males, including a 17-year-old boy, wanted in the shooting of a teen in Pukatawagan.
RCMP said Tuesday evening the teen and 22-year-old Bowden Nicholas were arrested without incident.
Mounties had taken the rare step of asking a judge to approve the release of the youth’s name temporarily, arguing there was reason to believe he might be a danger to others while on the loose.
Names of young offenders are usually banned from publication under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
In the first incident, RCMP believe the teen rode his snowmobile to a home on Crow Rock Drive just before 1 a.m., where he met with the 16-year-old victim and Nicholas.
Mounties alleged the teen fired off several blasts from a shotgun at the victim before fleeing with Nicholas.
The injured teen was flown to Winnipeg for medical treatment, RCMP said Tuesday.
RCMP allege the accused assaulted a 19-year-old woman, leaving her with minor injuries, at about 3 a.m.
Later, at about 7:45 p.m., RCMP were called about a robbery outside a business in Pukatawagan. Mounties allege the teen pointed a handgun at a 12-year-old boy sitting on a snowmobile, stealing the machine and ditching it nearby.
