The Winnipeg Police Service closed off Notre Dame Avenue between Beverley and Home streets on Tuesday after a person was shot, a witness told the Free Press.
Jessica Hatfield said she was with her roommate when she heard a gunshot followed by a “scream of pain” at about 5 p.m.
She said she saw a person shot in the chest, lying on the crosswalk at Tecumseh Street and Notre Dame Avenue near Health Sciences Centre. She later saw paramedics treat the person and take them away on a stretcher.
