Hey there, time traveller!

MCCREARY — Flags in McCreary sat at half-mast Tuesday, four days after the small community was rocked by a triple homicide.
A bulletin board outside the local post office had a notice from the office of Dauphin—Swan River—Neepawa MP Dan Mazier saying a planned barbecue Thursday had been postponed “out of respect for the community during this difficult time.”
At the rural property southwest of McCreary on Provincial Road 462 where the bodies of a 35-year-old man, a 65-year-old man and a 66-year-old woman were found Friday, there was no longer a police presence. Yellow tape surrounding the perimeter had been removed.

On Friday morning, Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP found a 41-year-old man dead from a self-inflicted wound on Road 84 West in the municipality of McCreary.
Shortly thereafter, Mounties were asked to check on a 37-year-old woman, believed to be the estranged common-law partner of the man. She was not home when officers arrived and they continued to a nearby house where they found the bodies of the three homicide victims, police said.
RCMP released few details about the slayings during last week’s news conference and refused to announce the names of the victims. They said they were not searching for any further suspects.
McCreary residents who spoke to the Brandon Sun Tuesday confirmed what a neighbour of the victims said last week: two of the homicide victims were Curtis and Rita Rosenkranz.
The suspect in the killings is Marlon David Glover, who went by the nickname Mano, the residents said.
One woman, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said she was in shock and said Glover was “known as a big teddy bear” in the community. She said he worked in the oilfields, that he was separated from his wife and that the couple were going through a custody issue.
A man who didn’t give his name said it had been “very stressful” in the community since Friday.
“It is very upsetting for something like this to happen,” he said. “It just kind of never happens here.”
As for Glover, the man said “he’s never been known for something like that. Just seemed like it came out of the blue.”
Court records indicate Glover had been charged with failing to comply with court orders, but those charges were stayed in April.
None of the area residents were aware of any funeral or memorial services having taken place.
When the Sun visited the municipal office, staff said Reeve Rick Sonnenberg was out of town for the day and that no one would be commenting until the RCMP release further details about the incident.
