SASKATOON — Running back Ryker Frank rumbled for 163 yards on 23 carries and two touchdowns and quarterback Anton Amundrud passed for 293 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead the Saskatchewan Huskies to a 42-24 triumph over the Manitoba Bisons in Canada West university football action Friday night.
The victory allowed the unranked Huskies to improve to 3-3 while the seventh-ranked Bisons fell to 5-1. Manitoba remained alone in first place.
Saskatchewan receiver Dawson Lennea, who scored on a 86-yard pass-and-run play in the opening half, caught seven passes for 162 yards. Amundrud completed 23 of 28 passes.

Manitoba quarterback JacksonTachinski was intercepted twice and fumbled once in Friday’s loss to the Huskies.
The Huskies took 28-3 lead to the locker room at halftime. Manitoba’s only offensive highlight in the first half was a career-best 48-yard field goal by Maya Turner.
Bisons quarterback Jackson Tachinski did not have a stellar passing night, going 18-for-26 for 212 yards and two interceptions. He also lost one fumble as Manitoba turned the ball over five times.
Tachinski ran the ball 13 times for 93 yards while Breydon Stubbs led all Manitoba runners with 95 yards on 20 carries.
Stubbs ran four yards for a third-quarter major and added a touchdown from one yard out early in the fourth quarter to help the Bisons cut the lead to 34-17.
Tachinski then scored on a five-yard TD run with 2:42 left in the game, pulling Manitoba to within 10 points at 34-24.
Saskatchewan’s Frank then put the win away with a 55-yard touchdown gallop with 2:31 remaining in the game.
Branson Pipko had the other Huskies major on a five-yard reception.

Saskatchewan outrushed Manitoba 212-204 and had a 505-413 edge in total offence.
Braeden Smith led Manitoba receivers with 56 yards on five catches while teammate Mula Yitna added 44 yards on three receptions.
Next up for the Bisons is a Saturday, Oct. 19 game in Edmonton against the Alberta Golden Bears before closing out the regular season at home against the UBC Thunderbirds on Saturday, Oct. 26.
