A 34-year-old woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle on Chief Peguis Trail Wednesday night.
Winnipeg police were called to Chief Peguis and Gateway Road at about 7:40 p.m., where patrol officers found the woman seriously injured.
Emergency workers provided her care at the scene, but she died in hospital, police said.
A 26-year-old man, the driver of the vehicle that struck her, remained at the scene and co-operated with officers, police said.
Traffic officers are asking anyone with information about the crash, including having dash cam footage, to call 204-986-7085 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 204-786-8477.
The Chief Peguis Trail collision is the second incident in which a pedestrian was struck this week.
A pedestrian was taken to hospital in unstable condition after he was hit by a vehicle on Regent Avenue West Monday.
The man, who is in his 30s, was hit at Regent and Stapon Road at about 6:45 p.m. The driver remained at the scene, police said.
No charges have been laid in either collision.
Police are also investigating a hit-and-run in late September. Police appealed for information on the incident this week.
The collision happened around 3:30 a.m. on Sept. 29 near the intersection of St. Anne’s Road and Granby Bay.
An 18-year-old woman was hit by a vehicle going northbound on St. Anne’s. The driver fled the scene, police said.
A passing motorist found the injured woman.
Police are still trying to identify the driver and vehicle involved.
