Winnipeg Sea Bears centre Chad Posthumus is in critical condition and has been placed in intensive care after there were complications following surgery that repaired a large brain aneurysm.

The homegrown fan-favourite suffered an aneurysm during a training session on Saturday but was in stable condition as he waited for additional care.
