Six people were taken to hospital with serious injuries after apartment fires in the North End and St. Boniface.
Firefighters were sent to the 400 block of Redwood Avenue at 7:39 a.m. Tuesday and saw smoke coming from the building and several people stuck inside.
“Firefighters rescued six residents from the building through a window as it was not safe for the residents to leave through the building,” the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service said in a news release.
