The Winnipeg Jets and NHL announced Monday that Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck is one of three finalists for the 2024-25 Vezina Trophy, handed out annually to the best goalie in the NHL.
Hellebuyck had a dominant regular season, leading the league with career bests in wins (47), goals-against average (2.00) and shutouts (eight), while finishing second overall in save percentage (.925). He finished the regular season fourth-overall in saves made (1,539), second in minutes played (3,741) and allowed one goal or fewer in 26 starts.
The Jets netminder also had a personal best eight-game winning streak from Jan. 22 to Feb. 26 and was in net for the Jets 11-game point streak (9-0-2) from Dec. 5 to Jan. 2.

Earlier this month, the Michigan native won the William M. Jennings Trophy for least allowed goals in the regular season for the second straight year. He also backstopped the franchise to their first Presidents’ Trophy — awarded to the team with the most points in the regular season — with the club finishing atop both the Western Conference and Central Division for the first time.
Hellebuyck is looking for his third Vezina Trophy — and his first back-to-back win — having won the award in both the 2023-24 and 2019-20 seasons. He is also a Vezina finalist for the third straight season and the fifth time overall (finalist in 2017-18 and 2022-23). His competition in the category are Andrei Vasilevskiy of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Darcy Kuemper of the Los Angeles Kings.
Hellebuyck, 31, was drafted by Winnipeg in the fifth-round of the 2012 NHL Draft. He would be the fourth goaltender to win the award at least three times under its current format (since 1981-82), following Czech netminder Dominik Hasek (six-time winner), and Canadian goaltenders Martin Brodeur (four-time winner) and Patrick Roy (three-time winner). He would also become the first goalie to repeat as winner since Brodeur in 2006-07 and 2007-08.
