DALLAS – The Winnipeg Jets season has come to a heartbreaking end in Dallas.
Defenceman Thomas Harley scored on the power play just 93 seconds into overtime to give the Stars a 2-1 overtime victory and a 4-2 series triumph.
Dallas moves on to play the Edmonton Oilers in the Western Conference Final.
Mark Scheifele, playing just hours after his father passed away in Ontario, opened the scoring for the Jets early in the second period. He was also in the penalty box when Harley notched the winner, the result of a trip on Sam Steel with 14 seconds left in regulation that prevented a clear-cut breakaway.
Steel had scored the lone goal in regulation for the home team midway through the middle frame.
Winnipeg lost top defenceman Josh Morrissey to a lower-body injury midway through the game. The Jets, who won the Presidents’ Trophy as the top regular-season team, have now dropped 10 straight playoff road games dating back to 2023.
