Fire crews battled three blazes Thursday night and early Friday, including one that destroyed a vacant home that previously burned this summer.

A Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service member spotted smoke and flames coming from the two-storey house on the 400 block of Bannatyne Avenue at about 8 p.m. Thursday.

Firefighters launched an exterior attack that included using an aerial ladder. The WFPS declared the fire under control shortly before midnight.

The house sustained significant fire, smoke and water damage and is considered a complete loss. It previously burned on July 21, when it was also vacant.

Shortly after midnight Friday, crews were sent to a fire in a commercial building on the 1000 block of Coulter Avenue. They declared the blaze under control at 1 a.m.

Firefighters were sent to a seven-storey apartment building on the 300 block of Kennedy Street shortly before 3:15 a.m. Crews declared the fire under control about 30 minutes later.

The causes of the fires are under investigation.
