Winnipeg police have two people in custody and are searching for a suspect after breaking up a suspected “dial-a-dealer” drug trafficking network operating in Winnipeg.
An investigation by members of the Winnipeg Police Service’s guns, gangs and drugs unit identified several people believed to be involved in the operation.
In a news release, police said the suspects are linked to a residence on Adsum Drive and the overall network is believed to have ties to Western Canada.
Officers executed a search warrant on the Winnipeg home and a vehicle on April 28 and arrested Yuvraj Singh Sidhu, 21, of Cambridge, Ont.
Police seized an assortment of drugs, including methamphetamine, fentanyl and cocaine with an estimated street value of $210,000, police said. Drug trafficking paraphernalia and over $28,000 in cash were also located.
Evidence seized during the search indicated the drugs were being transported into Winnipeg, police said.
Winnipegger Anmol Chauhan, 22, was arrested on May 12 in connection with the operation.
Police are searching for a third suspect, identified as Jaskaran Singh, 22, of Surrey, B.C.
The accused are facing charges for multiple drug offences.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 204-986-8436 or anonymously at Crime Stoppers 204-786-8477 (TIPS) or winnipegcrimestoppers.org
