HyLife donates $100,000 to the HSC Foundation for minimally invasive technologies

Hylife’s $100,000 donation to HSC Foundation’s Operation Ex-cellence is an investment in expanded operating room capacity, leading-edge surgical technologies, and modernized patient-flow systems to improve timely access to care and patient outcomes.

“What makes this gift especially meaningful is that it marks the beginning of a philanthropic partnership. Every donor’s journey starts with a first gift, and this gift demonstrates how businesses can play a key role in shaping the future of health care,” says Jonathon Lyon, President and CEO, HSC Foundation. “Even more, I have come to appreciate the integral role HyLife plays in our province, and I am deeply grateful for their support in advancing care.”

While HyLife’s premium farm-to-fork pork business operates worldwide, they are proudly based in Manitoba.

With more than 2,700 team members spread across the province, it’s vital for us to support causes that truly make a difference in our communities, like Manitoba’s trauma hospital, HSC,” says Lyle Loewen, COO, HyLife. “Our recent gift is more than just a contribution—it’s an investment in life-saving technology and innovation that benefits everyone. While we sincerely hope that none of our employees or their loved ones ever require critical surgeries, we want to be certain that, should the need arise, they have access to the most advanced equipment available.”

HyLife’s gift is already helping to ensure patients have access to life-changing—and life-saving—care when they need it the most. While this may be the beginning of HyLife’s partnership with the HSC Foundation, its impact will be felt for generations to come.

HyLife’s gift was made through Operation Excellence’s Corporate Challenge—a way for business leaders to accelerate the purchase of state-of-the-art, minimally invasive surgical equipment and the construction and redevelopment of new operating rooms and clinical spaces at HSC.
