The Ottawa Redblacks acquired American linebacker Kyahva Tezino from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Wednesday for the negotiation rights to American quarterback Ty Pennington.
Tezino, 29, signed with Winnipeg last month and spent time on its practice roster.
He came to Canada after NFL stints with the Pittsburgh Steelers (2024), San Francisco 49ers (2023), Carolina Panthers (2020) and New England Patriots (2020).
He was also with UFL’s Birmingham Stallions (2025) and USFL’s Pittsburgh Maulers (2022-23).
The six-foot-two, 210-pound Pennington is entering his senior season at Northern Arizona University.
He threw for 3,116 yards in 2025 with 19 touchdowns and four interceptions over 12 starts.
