THE Winnipeg theatre community is banding together to help two of its own rise from the ashes of a fire that burned their West End condo to the ground last December.

Winnipeg Jewish Theatre is holding a fundraiser tonight to support local playwright/actor and married couple Alix Sobler and Jason Neufeld.

Money to Burn: A Fundraiser for Winnipeg’s Hottest Couple takes place at 8 p.m. at the Berney Theatre, 123 Doncaster St. Tickets are $20 each and available at www.wjt.ca or by calling 477-7478.

The event will feature music by Tom Keenan, a reading by novelist Bob Armstrong, comedy from Al Rae, a sneak preview reading of Sobler’s play The Secret Annex, and performances by various other Winnipeg entertainers.
