WINNIPEG — University of Manitoba’s board of governors approved a salary freeze for executives and administrative academic groups over the next year.
The freeze will affect 24 deans of faculties, the university president, vice-president, executive directors, and university secretary.
Salary adjustments are usually made on April 1 for these groups, along with other staff not included in the eight collective bargaining units on campus.
The U of M says the move to freeze current salaries is a way to balance this year’s budget.
