Winnipeg fire crews were at a site Saturday evening, which has been plagued by frequent fires.
A fire was reported at 7:41 p.m. in a vacant, multi-storey industrial building on Sutherland Avenue between Maple Street North and Argyle Street North.
The Vulcan Iron Works building suffered severe fire damage on July 4, 2023, and was considered a complete loss. In a press release, the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service said several other significant fires have occurred at the location since then.
When WFPS arrived at the scene on Saturday, they used ladder trucks and hand water lines to fight the fire from the exterior of the building. A drone was used to direct crews to hotspots.
Crews remained at the scene Saturday night to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.
No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation.
