PEOPLE

Stephanie Albiani and Jennifer Lockhart

have joined Bergen and Associates Counselling as therapists providing services to individuals, couples and families. Both have completed a masters of marriage and family therapy at the Aurora Institute at the University of Winnipeg. Albiani has experience working at New Directions as a child and youth counsellor in a women’s shelter and an addictions centre, and also as a therapeutic wilderness guide. Lockhart has significant experience working with people in need of support in various capacities.

Jodi Funk Clements

has joined Legacy Bowes Group as HR analyst. Funk Clements has experience providing human-resources support within the construction and public sectors, as well as a background in property management, project management and finance. She graduated with honours from Red River College in Human Resources Management and Management Development. She has her CHRP designation and is a member of the Human Resources Management Association of Manitoba.

 

Michael Pye

has been appointed general manager of The Fairmont Winnipeg, effective Sept. 1. Pye has 14 years’ experience with the company, joining The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in 1996 as chief steward, and becoming director of conference services and catering there in 1999. In 2002, he was appointed director, rooms division, at The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald, and in 2004 director of operations, The Fairmont Waterfront. In 2006, Pye was appointed to his most recent position as director of operations, The Fairmont Southampton. He holds a bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Calgary.

 

David Greaves

has joined the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba as director of fund development and marketing. Greaves spent six years as the associate director of the financial resource development department and also as the director of women’s philanthropy at the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg.

Leney Richardson, CFA, treasurer; Stephen Gannon, CFA, secretary and Richard Iwuc, CFA, past president. Manitoba-North West Ontario Provincial Chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood

has announced its 2010/11 executive board: Linda Hamilton, president, Martha Helgerson, 1st vice-president, Doreen Oliver, 2nd vice-president, Diane Banash, organizer, Marion Inskip, treasurer and Nadine Kampen, secretary. The provincial chapter consists of 18 local chapters, with a total membership of nearly 500 women. P.E.O. International is a philanthropic educational organization for women; its mandate is to help all women reach their potential through training and higher education. To achieve this goal, an extensive program of scholarships, bursaries and student loans has been established. Female students in this area who meet the requirements of these programs are eligible to apply for financial aid.

Retiring from the board is Leona Herzog. A letter of condolence to the family of Lawrence J. Elkow was read at the AGM. Mr. Elkow began his tenure on the board in August 2008 and passed away this June.
