TORONTO – Toromont Industries Ltd. (TSX:TIH), a major Caterpillar heavy equipment seller and dealer based in Toronto, has appointed Scott Medhurst as the company’s new president and CEO.
The leadership change is effective March 1, the company said late Wednesday.
Medhurst, president of the company’s CAT dealership division, replaces Robert Ogilvie, currently chairman and CEO.
However, Toromont said Ogilvie will become executive chairman and remain active in the company’s operations.
Medhurst will also join the Toromont board.
Toromont Industries operates heavy equipment and refrigeration businesses.
The equipment group includes one of the larger Caterpillar dealerships by revenue and geographic territory, while the CIMCO unit makes and installs industrial and recreational refrigeration systems.
