Hey there, time traveller!

MTS Allstream unveiled its new flagship retail store in Winnipeg Tuesday, complete with a floor-to-ceiling video wall to help showcase its products and services.
The new Kildonan Place Shopping Centre outlet is the first MTS store to receive a complete makeover as the telecommunications firm strives to provide a higher level of customer service and differentiate itself from the competition.
In addition to the giant video wall, the new outlet has interactive stations scattered throughout the store to allow for hands-on demonstrations of MTS products and services.
Another new feature is a dedicated customer service area with staff who are trained to deal with all kinds of customer inquiries — everything from technical issues to questions about their MTS bill.
“It’s really a whole new concept for us,” said Pat Solman, MTS’s vice-president of consumer, customer solutions. “We’ll now have staff in the store to help you with any problem, no matter what.”
Solman said the plan is to revamp all of the company’s stores over the next two to three years, although not all to the same extent as the Kildonan Place store. For example, only the largest ones are big enough to accommodate a video wall.
“But they’ll all have a different look and feel,” she added, and they’ll all be equipped to offer the new customer services.
The next two MTS stores to get a makeover are the ones in the Polo Park and St. Vital shopping centres. Solman said they’ll be done sometime in 2015, and both will likely be similar in design to the Kildonan Place store.
