Winnipeg’s first family of business is being recognized for its work both inside of and outside of the boardroom.

At a gala dinner this October, the Richardson family will receive the EY Family Business Award of Excellence.

In addition to building the one of the largest privately-owned businesses in Canada, the Richardsons have a long history of giving back to the community, either through its own Richardson Foundation, which supports registered Canadian charitable organizations in the visual and performing arts, youth initiatives, education and environmental issues or through other organizations, such as the United Way.

“Successive generations of the Richardson family have built a diverse and iconic international corporation, maintaining proud Winnipeg roots that weave through all facets of our community.  The family is at the forefront of the Prairies’ business, cultural and philanthropic landscape,” said Joe Healey, EY Office Managing Partner for Winnipeg.
