PEOPLE
Madhav Sinha, PhD; P.Eng.
president of the Canadian Society for Quality is the guest editor of a special issue of the TQM Journal, published this month by Emerald Publishers (UK), consisting of selected papers from the sixth Canadian Quality Congress held at the University of Manitoba last year. Sinha is a professional engineer and recognized authority in the field of quality management, who has authored, co-authored and edited 10 books, including a textbook on quality management, and served as a voluntary manager of quality control for the historic project on the compilation and publication of the first-ever, English-written, 7,200 pages, 11 volumes, Encyclopedia of Hinduism on the world’s third-largest religion that took two decades and more than 1,000 scholars to complete it.
Number TEN Partner Dave Lalama
has been appointed president of the Manitoba Association of Architects. Lalama’s priorities in the coming year include strengthening the profile of the MAA, raising the profile of architecture and its importance in shaping healthy and dynamic communities, while building on the traditions of the association. He also plans to work closely with council and MAA committees to advance the organization’s relationship with all levels of government, with colleagues in the engineering and design associations, as well as with the University of Manitoba’s school of architecture.
Dan Dufault
has joined Republic Architecture Inc.’s head office in Winnipeg as architectural intern. With his experience in overseeing various design and construction projects, he will support the firm in effectively providing their clients with intelligent architectural services across the country. Dufault is a graduate of the University of Manitoba faculty of architecture.

The Winnipeg Art Gallery and the department of history at the University of Winnipeg
