The two long-time partners of printers The Prolific Group will receive this year’s hall of fame award from the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) at its annual gala dinner in March.
Al Alexandruk and Tom Wilton, lifelong friends and business partners, started Prolific in Alexandruk’s basement 47 years ago and now operate out of a modern 80,000-square-foot facility north of Inkster Boulevard.
Vidir Vertical Storage Solutions out of Arborg, Man., will receive CME’s export award this year. With 40,000 installations in 40 countries, its vertical motorized storage carousels and display systems have been purchased by Fortune 500 companies around the world and can be seen in nearly every Home Depot store in North America.
Tiber River received the emerging award that celebrates new companies with significant future potential that are distinguishing their business through growth, impact and innovation. The company creates environmentally friendly products for bath, body and home use.
“Manufacturing continues to be the driving force behind our province’s success, which has become even more apparent since the pandemic showed Manitobans how important the industry is to our livelihoods,” said Ron Koslowsky, CME vice-president. “It’s important for us to recognize excellence in our industry and support other companies on their journeys, and to share these incredible stories to inspire others.”
