Winnipeg-based IntouchCX is expanding into Mexico.
On Tuesday, the global company announced its acquisition of contact centre and business processing outsourcer Beliveo.
It’s the third acquisition IntouchCX — formerly called 24-7 Intouch — has undertaken in the past five years.
“We are always looking for strategic opportunities that enhance the value of our business and drive further growth,” Clare Evans, spokeswoman for IntouchCX, wrote in an email.
The company touted Beliveo as a top-rated nearshore call centre in Mexico.
Some 900 Beliveo staff will stay in their current roles, including the existing leadership team, Evans said. Beliveo’s chief executive will become IntouchCX’s country manager for Mexico.
IntouchCX anticipates client growth at the Mexico campus, meaning more people could be hired within North America, Evans added.
The company points to a need for growing “globally diverse customer service solutions” as a reason for the business deal.
Mexico becomes the 13th country of operations for IntouchCX.
In 2020, the company acquired Knoah Solutions, which had a presence in India and Latin America.
Its acquisition of Texas-based Goodbay Technologies came the following year.
IntouchCX employs more than 25,000 people across the globe.
Earlier this year, 24-7 Intouch changed its name to IntouchCX to “align with its accelerated growth,” the company advertised.
Its rebranding rolled out across its physical campuses in Canada, United States, Guatemala, Colombia, Jamaica, Honduras, Greece, India and the Philippines, according to a news release.
IntouchCX has been scaling up for the past two decades.
As 24-7 Intouch, it opened its first European hub in Athens, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
IntouchCX’s Mexico headquarters will be in Guadalajara, which was formerly Beliveo’s headquarters.
Beliveo was launched in 2011.
The acquisition allows Beliveo to “further drive value for our clients,” Noel Orozco, the company’s chief executive, said in a news release.
He highlighted IntouchCX’s global footprint and technology as key assets.
