Airbnb has named Winnipeg its most-booked affordable Canadian city of 2023.

On Thursday, the short-term rental app listed its five most popular cities with an average daily rate of approximately $135 or less.

Saskatoon, Kitchener, Ont., Gatineau, Que., and Prince George, B.C., also made the list.

Short-term rentals data website AirDNA pegs the average daily rate in Winnipeg at $127.30.

Airbnb logged a record year in 2023 — nearly eight million domestic guest arrivals, an increase of almost 30 per cent from 2019.

At least 1,700 communities have sites listed on Airbnb, according to a company news release.
