Economic Development Winnipeg has named Denise Zaporzan its newest board chair. Zaporzan, a chartered professional accountant, has been a board member since 2020. She recently chaired Economic Development Winnipeg’s finance committee.
Zaporzan is the president of Asteria Global, a consulting firm for entrepreneurs. She’s spent more than 20 years in executive leadership, according to an Economic Development Winnipeg news release.
The agency has appointed three new board members: Dennis Meeches, president of the Tribal Council Investment Group; Mark Rosner, chief of staff to Premier Wab Kinew; and Sofia Mirza, a partner at Filmore Riley LLP. Twelve directors make up the board.
Zaporzan replaces Bill Parrish, Jr. as board chair. Parrish, Jr. is the owner of Parrish & Heimbecker.
