Hey there, time traveller!

Another ride-hailing company is en route to Winnipeg.
Lyft is looking for drivers. The San Francisco-based firm began advertising Wednesday. It already has Canadian operations in Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and cities within southwestern Ontario.
Lyft wouldn’t make a spokesperson available Thursday, nor would it answer when rides would be available to customers.
It operates similar to Uber, which arrived in Winnipeg in 2020. Customers book rides via app; drivers choose when they want to work.
The new service will be available this fall, a Lyft blog post indicates. It’s offering new drivers a $250 bonus if they give 25 rides within 30 days of their first ride.
Lyft is accepting driver applications on its website.
The Winnipeg Community Taxi Association said in a statement it will continue to provide the “taxi advantage” — no surge pricing, local call centres and cash acceptance — as Lyft joins the vehicle for hire market.
Lyft was founded in 2012 by two computer programmers. The company clocked US$1.4 billion in revenue during 2024’s second quarter.
