The Manitoba government has announced more than $710,000 for local companies’ growth and product innovation.

Twelve companies have received funding through the Innovation Growth Program, Economic Development Minister Jamie Moses said in a news release Wednesday.

Through the program, small- and medium-sized companies receive cost-shared grants up to $100,000. Businesses in this round of funding expect to collectively add 426 new full-time jobs and $291.2 million in export sales within five years.

Evolution Wheel and Twenty Point Nine Inc., operating as the Den, netted $100,000 grants. The enterprises will test airless wheel loader tires and promote a video-streaming service allowing for in-video purchasing, respectively.

Spark E Safety will use $40,000 to commercialize special safety garments; CogNet Inc. has tabbed its $70,000 for commercializing clinically validated software for home-based cognitive testing supports.

Cubresa Inc., 3Common Inc., ErosionControlBlanket.com, NextGen Environmental Research Inc., PolySense Solutions Inc., Refuah Solutions Ltd., Take Place and TauMedis Inc. also received grants.

The Innovation Growth Program’s current intake is open until Dec. 15.
