While major social media platforms are scaling back on content moderation, IntouchCX is enhancing its capabilities.

This week, the Winnipeg-based global customer service company acquired California-based WebPurify, which uses hybrid of AI-powered and human-driven content moderation solutions.

IntouchCX referred to the deal as “a milestone in IntouchCX’s mission to be the industry’s trusted adviser.”

IntouchCX has customer service centres all over the world — including throughout North America, Central America, Asia Pacific and one location each in Europe and Africa — and has been deploying AI for many years.

In a prepared statement, co-CEO Shane Kozlowich said with the addition of WebPurify, IntouchCX will “amplify our ability to help clients with the growing demands in trust and safety, including content moderation and platform safety and integrity.”

In an April 2024 Associated Press report, a WebPurify official said the U.S. company works with businesses to help ensure the content people post on their websites — any online environment that has user-generated content — follows the rules.

IntouchCX represents companies across several different vertical markets including e-commerce, entertainment and gaming, consumer technology and consumer durables.

A company statement said IntouchCX will deploy WebPurify’s content moderation tools “to redefine standards for trust and safety, providing brands with the tools and expertise to thrive in a secure, inclusive online ecosystem.”
