There will be a new NCAA men’s basketball champion in 2025.

The top-seeded Florida Gators defeated No. 8 UConn 77-75 in a second-round contest Sunday. The Huskies were chasing a third consecutive NCAA title.

But according to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp., the upset was music to the ears of most Proline bettors. A whopping 96 per cent of players backed Florida’s victory.

Other popular choices were Duke over Baylor 89-66 (97 per cent), Michigan State over New Mexico 71-63 (91 per cent), Tennessee 67-58 over UCLA (91 per cent) and Alabama downing Saint Mary’s 80-66 (90 per cent).

Meanwhile, only seven per cent of bettors successfully backed 10th-seeded Arkansas’ 75-66 upset of No. 2 St. John’s while just 13 per cent supported Ole Miss’s 91-78 decision over Iowa State. And only 33 per cent backed BYU’s 91-89 victory over Wisconsin.

Meanwhile, in NHL action, just 10 per cent of Proline players successfully backed Nashville’s 5-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night. But 92 per cent took the over 5.5 Goals with just 12 per cent picking the Predators at +1.5 on the spread.

In other action, the New York Rangers defeated the Vancouver Canucks 5-3, with 67 per cent of Proline players backing the winners. And 52 per cent supported the Calgary Flames’ 4-3 overtime win over the New York Islanders.

Also:

– Sixty-four per cent of players backed the Colorado Avalanche’s 5-4 shootout victory against the Montreal Canadiens.

– Sixth-six per cent supported the Ottawa Senators’ 3-2 victory against the New Jersey Devils.

– A solid 72 per cent backed the Edmonton Oilers’ 5-4 victory over the Seattle Kraken.
