The Manitoba Securities Commission has issued an investor alert regarding Right Capital Ventures LLC, a supposed investment company based in Costa Rica.

The company was formerly called Do it Right Trade Corp. and might also be listed as 14493320 Canada Ltd.

“This organization is not, and has never been, registered in Manitoba to engage in the business of trading securities or advising anyone with respect to investing in, buying or selling securities,” the Manitoba Financial Services Agency said in a news release Monday.

The commission is a division of the agency.

Since 2021, the people involved with Right Capital Ventures — Sarah Anne Thomas, Ryan Michael Thomas and Monica Santos — have taken money from Manitoba investors to supposedly invest in securities and cryptocurrencies on behalf of investors for a fee, the release said.

None of the three people are or have ever been registered to trade in securities in Manitoba, the release said.

The Thomases are both originally from Winnipeg.

The Manitoba Financial Services Agency asked people who invested with either business or with any of the three people — or believe they have been targeted by any type of investment fraud attempt — to call 1-855-FRAUD-MB or email contact@recognizeinvestmentfraud.com.
