MONTREAL – Quebec’s real estate board says Montreal-area home sales rose 11 per cent in September from a year earlier.
The Quebec Professional Association of Real Estate Brokers says there were 3,520 total sales in the month in the Montreal census metropolitan area, up from 3,176 in the month last year.
The association says the sales volume is well above historic trends, with about 620 more deals than the average for September over the past 25 years.

New listings were up 17 per cent with 7,135 homes added.
The median price for a single-family home was $632,500, up seven per cent from last year, and the median condominium price was up four per cent to $430,000.
Sales for the province as a whole were also up 11 per cent from last year to 7,645 deals.
