A proposed hub for Canadian cereals research has received a second boost of cash from the provincial government.

Manitoba is giving $10.5 million to the Global Agriculture Technology Exchange. It slated an initial $13 million in April.

The new funding, announced on Tuesday, follows a GATE location announcement: last week, Cereals Canada declared the development will be built at the corner of Lombard Avenue and Westbrook Street in Winnipeg.

Sector giant James Richardson & Sons, Limited will provide the land in kind.

The facility is expected to cost $102 million. A capital campaign has raised $42.6 million; Cereals Canada launched the campaign last year.
