TORONTO – Brookfield Asset Management Ltd. raised its quarterly dividend by 15 per cent as it reported fourth-quarter net income of US$615 million.

The company, which keeps its books in U.S. dollars, says it will now pay a quarterly dividend of 50.25 US cents per share, up from 43.75 cents US per share.

BAM reported its net income amounted to 34 cents US per diluted share for the quarter ended Dec. 31, down from US$680 million or 42 cents US per diluted share a year earlier.

Distributable earnings totalled US$767 million or 47 cents US per share, up from US$649 million or 40 cents US per share in the fourth quarter of 204.

Revenue for the quarter totalled US$1.39 billion, up from US$1.06 billion a year earlier.

The company also announced the appointment of Connor Teskey as chief executive, taking over from Bruce Flatt, who will continue as chair of the board in addition to his role as chief executive of Brookfield Corp. Teskey had been president of BAM.
