WATERLOO – OpenText Corp. says net income was US$168 million during its second quarter, down 27 per cent from the same period a year earlier, when it brought in US$230 million.
The Waterloo, Ont.-based tech company says it earned 66 cents US per diluted share during the quarter, down from 87 cents US during the prior-year quarter.
The company, which keeps its books in U.S. dollars, says its total revenues for the quarter dipped slightly to just under $1.33 billion.
OpenText interim CEO James McGourlay says in a news release that the company saw an 18 per cent year-over-year revenue increase in its content management cloud business, coming in at US$295 million.
Earlier this month, OpenText announced it is selling its analytics database Vertica to Rocket Software Inc. for US$150 million.
The company also announced in January that Ayman Antoun will take over as CEO in April.
