TORONTO – Hydro One Ltd. says David Lebeter will retire from his role as CEO effective June 9 and that the board has appointed Megan Telford to step into the position.    

Telford joined the organization in 2020 and is the current chief operating officer. 

Her previous leadership roles at Hydro One have included oversight of health, safety and environment, system planning, human resources, Indigenous relations and more.

The power utility says Lebeter will remain as an adviser with Hydro One until Oct. 10 this year. 

In November of last year, Lebeter resumed his role at the helm of the organization after taking a compassionate care leave in August.

Hydro One appointed Lebeter as CEO in 2023 after serving as the company’s chief operating officer.
