A TV show creator wants to give Winnipeg businesswomen their 15 minutes of fame.
Jayne Trimble will be in Manitoba’s capital next week to film episodes for the third season of The Empower Women Show, which airs on Rogers TV. Trimble produces and hosts the show, which features interviews with women entrepreneurs, professionals and leaders from Ontario to B.C.
“I’ve always had a passion for empowering women,” said Trimble, who divides her time between Saskatchewan and California.

“I wanted to address things like inner healing journeys, the self-esteem journey, entrepreneurship and being a mother, flipping the script on shame, abundance mindset — all of these kinds of things that on my journey have been really important for me.”
Rogers TV has broadcast two seasons of The Empower Women Show since it debuted in April 2025. Almost all of the 15-minute episodes are also available on the show’s YouTube page, where Trimble said they’ve received 320,000 views.
A number of Manitobans have appeared on the show, including Colleen Munro, president of Hugh Munro Construction; Melissa Funk, CEO of high-end charcuterie board company Lynn & Liana Designs; and Anna Hunter, co-owner of Long Way Homestead, a sheep farm and wool processing mill.
Trimble is scheduled to interview 16 women when she’s in the city from March 30 to April 2.
“There’s no shortage of incredible women in Winnipeg,” she said.
Trimble draws from her own life experience during her conversations with guests. Originally from Ireland, she was raised near Belfast in a home marred by alcoholism. She moved to Canada as an adult.
In 2012, Trimble started releasing music under the stage name OXLIP. After leaving an unhappy marriage, she moved to Los Angeles and started World Peach Records, a boutique record label and publishing company that aims to support women musicians.
“When I had the opportunity to do this TV show, I wanted to do the same — not just in the music industry but for any industry,” she said.
Trimble funds the production of The Empower Women Show through sponsorships.
Jill Hollosi, manager of brand and digital marketing at Assiniboine Credit Union, said ACU signed on as a sponsor last month because the credit union believes in the show’s mission to promote and elevate women entrepreneurs.
“It aligns with our commitment to diversity and inclusion,” she said.
