TORONTO – Aecon Group Inc. says a joint venture has finalized a US$691-million contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for a project in Washington state.
The construction company says its share of the contract for the Howard A. Hanson Dam additional water storage and fish passage facility project will be added to its construction segment backlog in the first quarter.
Aecon holds a 40 per cent stake in the joint venture, while FlatironDragados holds the other 60 per cent.
The project increases water storage at the dam, while also providing salmon access to habitat above the dam.
Construction is set to begin in the second quarter of this year.
It is expected to be complete in the third quarter of 2031.
This report by The Canadian Press was first published March 25, 2026.
