WINNIPEG – Winpak Ltd. has named David Johns as interim president and chief executive, replacing Olivier Muggli, effective immediately.
Winpak, which thanked Muggli for his years of leadership at the company, did not give a reason for his departure.
Johns, a former president of the company’s Winpak Division, retired in 2017.
The company says he agreed to return on an interim basis while the board finalizes its plan for a permanent replacement.
Winpak also announced that it has expanded the role of Scott Taylor, vice-president and chief financial officer, who started with the company in 1999 and has been in the CFO position since 2022.
Winpak produces packaging materials for a variety of uses including perishable foods, beverages, pharmaceuticals, medical and personal care.
This report by The Canadian Press was first published March 26, 2026.
