Manitoba businesses and non-profit organizations were celebrated Wednesday evening at the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce’s annual Spirit of Winnipeg Awards.

Five local organizations took home awards at the event at the Fort Garry Hotel.

Marketing agency UpHouse won in the “technology and innovation” category.

Habitat for Humanity Manitoba won for its focus on environment and sustainability.

Custom branding company Dreamcatcher Promotions received an award for creating an equitable and positive workplace culture.

Agape Table, which provides food support to people in need, won an award in the chamber’s “non-profit and social enterprise” category.

The Spirit of Winnipeg award, which the chamber described on social media as a way to “recognize a local organization whose impact extends far beyond our city and province,” went to packaging manufacturer Winpak.

The chamber has hosted the Spirit of Winnipeg Awards for 17 years.
