A Winnipeg-based investment advisory firm is marking two more milestones as its swift growth continues.
Wellington-Altus Financial Inc. has surpassed $50 billion in assets under administration (AUA) — fewer than nine years after the firm was founded, and five months ahead of its November target.
At the same time, the firm’s private wealth division, Wellington-Altus Private Wealth Inc., has been ranked Canada’s No. 1 investment dealer in Investment Executive’s well-regarded Brokerage Report Card for the seventh year in a row.

Wellington-Altus Financial founder and CEO, Shaun Hauser.
“It feels great,” said Shaun Hauser, founder and CEO of Wellington-Altus Financial, attributing the firm’s success to “playing the long game since Day 1 and not really wavering in what we believe in.”
The firm’s latest AUA figure doesn’t consume Hauser’s day-to-day thoughts or activities, he said, though it is “a fantastic benchmark.”
Most interesting, he added, is the firm added more than $10 billion AUA in the past nine months, representing rapid growth of more than 20 per cent. “(That) is pretty spectacular.”
Several divisions fall under the parent company of Wellington-Altus Financial, including Wellington-Altus Private Counsel Inc., Wellington-Altus USA Inc. and Wellington-Altus Insurance Inc.
Founded in 2017, the firm has a head office at 201 Portage Ave. and more than 60 locations across Canada. It employs nearly 1,100 people.
The firm earned an overall rating of 9.4 in the 2026 Brokerage Report Card, which measures Canada’s top investment dealers based on various criteria rated by their own advisers.
Wellington-Altus excelled in all 27 categories of the report card and led in 20, including receptiveness to advisor feedback, products and support for high-net-worth clients, financial planning support and technology, business development and marketing support, and support for remote system access and transactions.
The firm also received the highest rating for its leadership team and strategic focus.
“We don’t take it for granted,” Hauser said. “We work hard every year towards it and we’re very lucky that we can earn our advisors’ confidence.”
Wellington-Altus is on track for one of its most successful years yet.
The firm averages $4 billion to $6 billion in recruited assets every fiscal year, Hauser said.
After two-and-a-half quarters of this fiscal year, the company is already at $5.5 billion.
“There’s no changes in our attitudes or execution,” he said.
“I think over time the consistency pays off. Advisers talk and they’re looking for great experiences, and I think we’re really good at delivering those.”
