EDMONTON – AutoCanada Inc. has announced that it has completed the sale of its Toyota of Lincolnwood dealership in Illinois, in a move advancing its U.S. exit.
The company says it received about $40 million in cash as part of the sale, excluding inventory and net working capital.
AutoCanada says its remaining U.S. dealerships are expected to be sold in 2026, expecting total proceeds from the U.S. exit to be toward the upper end of a previously disclosed range of $115 million to $130 million.
Samuel Cochrane, the AutoCanada CEO, says that while the divestiture process has taken longer than expected, it has generated about $106 million in proceeds from the sale of U.S. dealerships.
In April, AutoCanada announced it sold its Hyundai of Lincolnwood dealership in Illinois.
AutoCanada has 64 auto dealerships across eight provinces in Canada and 36 collision centres in addition to the U.S. operations it is selling.
