MONTREAL – TFI International Inc. reported its net income rose to US$136.2 million during the second quarter from US$98.2 million a year earlier.

That amounted to diluted earnings per share of US$1.65 compared with US$1.17 during the prior year quarter.

The Montreal-based trucking firm, which keeps its books in U.S. dollars, says its revenue reached US$2.29 billion during the period, rising 12 per cent year-over-year from US$2.04 billion.

The company says total revenue in its truckload and logistics segments increased by 13 per cent during the period.

Its board of directors declared a quarterly dividend in June of 47 cents US per common share, representing a four per cent increase from the prior year quarter.

Alain Bédard, TFI CEO, says the company saw strength across all three of its business segments during the quarter, allowing it to beat its earnings outlook.
