MONTREAL – Quebec provincial police say a 26-year-old man may have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs when he was caught speeding north of Montreal at 184 kilometres per hour.
Police say the man was driving in an 80 km/h construction zone when officers stopped him at around 3 a.m. on Highway 15 in Boisbriand.
The driver provided breath samples because police suspected he may have been driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs.
Police say charges could be laid at a later date.
The man received a $1,918 speeding ticket and 24 demerit points.
As well, his licence was suspended for 90 days.
