SAULT STE. MARIE – Algoma Steel Group Inc. has released guidance for the third quarter, saying it expects total steel shipments to be around 145,000 tons.

In the third quarter of 2025, Algoma reported shipments of 419,173 tons.

The company also says it expects to report an adjusted loss before deductions of between $10 million and $20 million for the period.

In September, Algoma announced it had resumed electric arc furnace production after an unplanned outage at its Lake Superior Power generating facility that left a turbine unavailable.

Algoma CEO Rajat Marwah says the company has successfully installed a replacement turbine at its Lake Superior Power facility.

Michael Moraca, the chief financial officer, says the turbine outage temporarily constrained its electric arc furnace production, which was expected to affect shipping volumes in the third quarter.
