CALGARY – Shares in Enerflex Ltd. gained more than 10 per cent after it says it won a contract to design and build 450 megawatts in natural gas-fired power generators for a North American data centre developer.
Financial terms of the agreement with the unidentified company were not immediately available.
Enerflex says the project will be executed through its North American manufacturing operations with deliveries scheduled to start in 2027 and be completed in 2028.
In addition to the initial equipment, the company says the deal provides opportunities for future commissioning, installation and aftermarket services support.
Enerflex CEO Paul Mahoney says the demand for reliable, prime power that does not require grid connection, supporting AI and digital infrastructure development continues to grow.
Enerflex shares were up $4.80 or nearly 15 per cent at $37.18 in early trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
